Could Frankincense help bring you your immaculate conception?

I’ve discussed previously how stress is such a big factor when it comes to fertility and so I thought I would share with you all my new top tip:

Frankincense essential oil!

Research shows that deep inhalation of Frankinsense oil can lower cortisol levels by 40% So why would that help you to fall pregnant?  Well stress interferes with the reproductive process and the reason for this is due to high levels of cortisol leading to a lack of the hormone progesterone.

Being stressed a lot causes a decline in progesterone levels and progesterone is essential to conception as it helps to build and nourish the lining of the womb for implantation as well as the uterus during pregnancy itself and so without enough of it pregnancy is simply not possible.

When we are stressed we produce cortisol and adrenaline.  The problem with that is that the adrenal glands need progesterone to manufacture cortisol. This causes your progesterone to be used in making your stress hormones, as opposed to what it is designed to do —support your pregnancy.  Your body will steal however much progesterone it needs to make the cortisol.

This is one of the primary reasons why some women are struggling to conceive or are having multiple miscarriages; they just don’t have enough progesterone available to fall pregnant and maintain a pregnancy.

The body is designed for survival, and when you are constantly in that “stress” mode, it is more important for the body to deal with that stress in the only way it knows how to, than it is to have a baby. The constant demand for cortisol is going to reduce your levels of progesterone. Inadequate levels of progesterone not only interfere with the reproductive process, but that lack of progesterone is another reason why so many women struggle with PMS, hot flushes, and night sweats— progesterone is being stolen away to make cortisol.
