You Were Inside Your Grandmothers Womb…

I find it so fascinating to think that the egg that gave rise to you was actually inside your grandmother’s womb and was in the ovary of her mother in utero.  This also means that the choices and behaviours of our grandmothers impacted not only our mothers but us too. More and more research into epigenetics suggests that the experiences of our parents had a direct impact on our biological programming.

What’s interesting for us to think about today is that the choices we make in life will shape our children and generations to come.  We can take action towards creating the healthiest baby and future adult possible.  We can do this by optimising the environment of the uterus. This is done by improving the number of neurotransmitters in the body, which are found across the entire uterine lining.

Three Generations of womenNeurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin do more than affect the nervous system of the baby; they influence everything from circadian rhythm, and the cardiovascular and digestive systems, to how a child perceives pain throughout their life.  Individualised homeopathic treatment is a wonderful way to do this.

There is a growing global issue concerning the reproductive potential of both men and women.  Many of the causes (as well as the solutions) are likely epigenetic, with consequences that keep being passed down family lines.  Plus there’s an increasing incidence of conditions such as endometriosis, Polycystic Ovarian disease, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), fibroids, ovarian and breast cancer as well as heavy and painful periods.

The good news is that we can use homeopathic remedies to improve our epigenetics…

It has been proven that in some studies homeopathic medications act on the epigenome and the microbiota of the living human organism.  Much research has shown that highly diluted remedies can provide different signals to genes and proteins.  This is done by switching on and off the mechanism of gene expression, particularly by causing epigenetic modifications.  In one study, it was checked whether the homeopathically diluted remedy called Condurango 30c (ethanolic extract of Gonolobus Condurango) was capable of arresting the cell cycles in cervical cancer cells.  This was done by triggering an epigenetic modification through modulation of the activity of the key enzyme histone deacetylase 2 vis-à-vis the succussed alcohol placebo control.  The conclusion was that the remedy Condurango 30c appeared to trigger key epigenetic events of gene modulation in effectively combating cancer cells, which the placebo was unable to do.
